County Cork is Ireland’s largest county, located in the southwest of the country. West Cork, the area west of Cork city, is known as a region of its own and has long been popular with tourists from other areas of Ireland, the uk, europe, usa and the rest of the world. West Cork has an atmosphere unique in Ireland, where the climate & vegetation benefit from the warm currents of the gulf stream. The coastline has sandy beaches, stunning high cliffs, wild moorland, native woodlands, archaeological remains and traditional fishing villages. The people of West Cork are equally unique and offer a mix of Irish families whose ancestors developed the area and expatriates who came to West Cork and fell in love with the area.
