The Welches, Plymouth, UK, staying in The Lodge

We’re sitting in the sun-flooded solarium recalling our historic week at Inish Beg and the West Cork coastal villages.A long time dream – to visit my paternal grandmother’s Irish cottage at the head of Baltimore Harbour with my children and grandchildren – has occurred complete with movie set dwellings of The Lodge with its pastures of horses, cattle and sheep. We walked the sea coast paths, explored the medieval walled acres, visited the family castle, hiked to the top of Lough Hyne. Lunched with Irish cousins – the Leonards of Reengaraga – at the Sibin Pub, found a ring fort replica in Clonakilty – a week of magnifient bounty! Thanks Paul and Georgiana, Everyone was captivated by your charm….  Read More: The Welches, Plymouth, UK, staying in The Lodge
