An Inish Beg Limerick
‘Twas the summer of 2003
That on Inish Beg met our family
So luxurious & calm
& so stuffed full of charm
That we did pass our time delightfully.

The Leggett Family

We’ve rented holiday homes all over the world but in the words of Sinead O’Connor, “nothing compares” to this gem beside the Ilen. Don’t forget what is perhaps the best of all about Inish Beg – it is smack bang in the middle of West Cork! Our must do list: take a dolphin/whale watching trip, hire a boat from Baltimore and bring it back to the Boat House, take a trip to Schull and have coffee in Adele’s, Mary Anne’s in Castletownshend is great for dinner with kids ( or without kids), O Callaghan Walsh in Rosscarbery

Celebrating a wonderful 70th Birthday with all our family and grandchildren congregating at Inish Beg – and what a wonderful venue to choose – a feast for the eyes – the perfect backdrop for a very happy and wonderful occasion. Incredible weather for January, sun all day, the warmth of the fire in the evening, beautiful walks – idyllic in every regard. The Dalai Lama showed to me his own beautiful home in the hills of North India, aptly described and inscribed at the entrance portal at Dharmsala “ if ever there was a heaven on earth it is here” – Inish Beg can justifiably make this claim.

Thank you Paul for your vision and meticulous creation of a garden of eden – and forgive me for mixing metaphors but I also appreciate the discovery of a place of rest on a “road less traveled”. We hope to return, but if not our memories will suffice. Best Wishes

Well, on first driving into Inish Beg grounds my wife and I looked at each other and came to the same conclusion “Heaven exists!!!” One of man’s great mysteries has been solved! This place is truly “the garden of eden”

We had a wonderful week in our Courtyard Cottage. Enjoyed the comfort of your hospitality – the fresh vegetables, the eggs, the cows, horses, sheep and chickens. The carriage ride with Dolly was very informative. Loved the flower garden, the lovely paths and beautiful stone walls.

Thank you for a wonderful time. The place lived up to our high expectations and more. It is truly a piece of Eden. Everything is beautiful – the garden, cottages, woods and views. Our 18 month old loved all the animals and she learnt lots of new words.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Inish Beg. We appreciated the thoughtful touches: plastic boxes so we could take a packed lunch with us, really good kitchen appliances and cutlery. Our boys (11 and 12) made the most of the pool daily. In fact we had to literally drag them out!
    Wilett Family, Chelmsford, Essex, UK

Inish Beg is even better than it’s description in the brochures. We arrived planning to visit our favourite places in West Cork but were seduced into spending day after day on the estate. The planting and love and dedication which has gone into every detail of the work here is outstanding. Just sitting by the waterfront watching herons. It’s idyllic. If this is what it’s like in February then Summer and Autumn must be amazing. We hope to be back every year to see future developments. Thank you for your lovely hospitality. We’ve had a fantastic time here. A most wonderful experience here at Inishbeg, the ambience and exclusivity is far beyond anything you will find world wide. Paul and his team even arranged a light dusting of frost on the lawns for us to wake up to each morning, cosy and snug in No 3.
    Johnny, Lucia Connor, Kinsale.

This was our first visit to Ireland but it will not be the last. A truly breath-taking place with great food, people and hospitality! Your dogs led us on a journey around the estate cookie looked after us. She is great. Thank you for the great accommodation where nothing was too much trouble. Kind Regards,

We’ve stayed in many rural cottages but none quite as lovely as “Inish Beg”. What a beautiful location. It’s been marvellous to allow my eighteen month old son to run free and explore in a beautiful and relatively safe environment. We all enjoyed seeing the lambs and friendly pets but I was especially chuffed to see a new born foal, bliss! The week has certainly allowed us to slow down our pace of life, not sure if the the fresh air, open fire or the beer! Who cares? Thanks for a lovely week. Keep it special house.

    Refreshed in mind and body

It would surely be “Inish Beg”

We found you on the internet, when we needed to get away, We couldn’t have found a better place to spend our holiday. We loved the peace, the walks, the views, we even swam having left our shoes. We made friends with Eric, & the cat, & Hannibal & Pumpkin (our dogs) sat on the mat We visited places we’d not been before, returning at dusk to our own little door. We’ve been comfy & happy but we’re sad to say We’re off to our cousins in Cork today.

www.perfectirishholidays.com should perhaps be your web site. You have excelled once again with your hospitality, & every aspect of this beautiful place. A big “Thank you ”to you & all your helpers. Our profound enjoyment of the cottage this time is just as great as when you rescued us storm-bound sailors in June 2002, Ireland’s wettest month for a decade.

    • Thank you for a wonderful holiday, we were very sorry to leave your beautiful island and we would love to return very soon. Your regeneration of Inishbeg is unbelieveable; the kitchen garden an inspiration and the woods are paradise, not to mention the luxurious standard of accomodation! I would be very interested in the completion dates of the boathouse which is under construction, and its details. Many many thanks for the effort you have made to make your guests feel so at home and the tranquil place you are creating.

“The Boat House at Inish Beg, designed by architect Tony Cohu, has become a famous piece of modernist Irish architecture, sitting proud out on the water on the Inish Beg estate, Frank Lloyd Wright meets Glen Murcott on an island off the coast of – where else?- West Cork. Aside from the Boat House, there are lots of other superbly comfortable cottages to rent in Paul and Georgie Keane’s complex of rental properties, and there is also the terrifically delicious Inish Beg honey to be enjoyed”
